Spiritual Gifts
Follow the way of love and eagerly desire spiritual gifts, especially the gift of prophecy. 1 Cor 14:1
One of the things that has really blessed us at Hope Chapel is the gift of prophecy. Hope is the first church that we have been to with members blessed with the gift of prophecy that actively use their gifts for building up the church.
Prophetic words we received has encouraged us in so many ways:
1. A missionary in our church that we never interacted with before coming up to me after prayer and saying God is pleased with your heart of worship and that God is going to bring something new into your life and not be afraid to leave the old, which we took as confirmation abt our decision to move to Houston to join a family business that we had been praying and seeking God's will on for about a year.
2. Our pastor sharing a word that he received to us after praying for Grace and me that there will be situations that I cannot navigate/handle by myself and that I will need Grace's guidance on. We are currently experiencing some of those situations now where Grace's sensitivity and insight has helped me better handle certain relationships.
3. During a night with a team of folks gifted in prophecy praying over us, one of them said that God would use us together in evangelism, more so than us individually. That was an encouragement for me b/c I had been kind of discouraged with the lack of relationships I felt being developed in the international ministry. This is also a promise that we pray about now and ask God to fulfill.
4. During that same night one person prayed for us about kingdom culture and kingdom values, which we took as placing a priority on God's values and not comprising God's values.
